Sick of ipod software
I am putting this here becasue i need help.
I have tried ephpod and itunes but I cannot transfer my files how i want to.
I spent the last 3 days sorting and tagging about 5000 mp3's
I have ID3 v1 and v2 synched so they all are the same for a song.
In ephpod i tell it to synch but it stops and asks me about certain tags which annoys me because ethat means i need to sit at my cpu for the 1 and a half hour transfer.
in Itunes it doesn't see any of these tag changes and i cannot select synchronize because it is greyed out. I can add a few songs but not all songs.
Sorry for the many ?'s but i am at wit's end with this tonite.

That Ephpod thing really bugged me too though there is a message saying that you can turn it off I never figured out how to.
If you want a quick fix download Vpod. It is the simplest and fastest syncing program in my opinion and that is basically all it does. Add all your songs to Vpod and then upload. I get about 11mb/s upload speed which makes the process a whole lot quicker.
Having said that Vpod does little else apart from transfer the files very quickly and you are better off persevering with ITunes or Ephpod in the long run. However having loaded up all the songs with Vpod, when you sync with Ephpod afterwards it will be a very quick process.

Get rid of V1 tags on your files. Don't need them and that ephpod error message will go away once you get rid of the V1 tags.
Regarding iTunes. Not sure what the problem is. Do you not have your music on your PC? Do you keep your tunes on the iPod only?
If you can't access the music in iTunes, that's because you have it set up to auto-sync. Select the iPod, then click on the iPod options button (lower right). Then change it to Manual iPod management.
