Restore firmware from 2.1 to 2.0.1

Does anybody know how to restore my old firmware back again? Ever since I updated to the new firmware, my ipod just doesn't seem to charge up like usual.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
G

So the battery display is not an accurate representation of the charge it has? I ought to have stuck with the older firmware, it is quite annoying not knowing exactly what the charge that I have on my pod left. I usually just charge it fully and further let it discharge all the way. , which happens about once in 3-4 days depending on how much I use.

I hope the folks at apple fix this issue in the next firmware release.

Are there any instructions anyway on going back to the older firmware? There are no instructions anywhere that I have searched for.

sry, dont know how to answer you major question (go back to 2.0.1), but i might have a sollution for the battery thing.
make a new text file in windows, name it: _show_voltage

without any extentions (like.txt or something like that) , and copy it to your ipod in the "...\iPod_Control\Device " folder . now the ipod should show you an alphanumeric charge display...
hope this helped

Tao,

Fortunately I do have the old binary, but here is the issue. When I run the system update tool it recognises that I have 2.1 and it doesn't allow me to revert back to the older version. That is why I asked whether anybody here had managed to hack a way to go back to 2.0.1.

The suggestion provided by Grimmet works, it right now shows me "479" which I would assume is a pretty high #. I was happy with 2.0.1 which would charge up in 3 hours for a full charge. Unfortunately I leave 2.1 charging overnight and it takes a reboot or so before I get a definite idea as to exactly what the charge level is(Oh so windows ME/95)

Thanks,
G

Do a restore with iPod updater...using your original 2.0.1 install disk. Simple.

Note: it will erase all your music from iPod...
