ephpod doesnt load m4a files created in iTunes

I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem.
When using EphPod v. 2.70a to load m4a (AAC files) that I ripped in iTunes, EphPod loads them and you can play the files on the iPod. However, no ID3 tag info is displayed - instead only the file name is used when playing the file. So if the file name is "13 Artist - Song Name.m4a" that is exactly what's displayed on the screen while playing the track.

I've heard of EphPod v. 2.73 - could that be my problem? I'm using the latest version available on ephpod.com which is 2.70a.

Thanks all.

I think that your problem is with itunes. Unless you change it, it names the files that way. I ripped a cd and it shows on my ipod's now playing display as:

My problem is the display on the iPod of any info of any AAC file encoded with iTunes. Meaning, every time you view a song through the iPod's menus (via browse by song title, artist, album, etc) - if I load the .m4a file using iTunes, all is well (the tag title is displayed). If I load the .m4a file onto the iPod using EphPod, the name of the file itself is displayed, and that's it - no tag info is displayed on the iPod.

What I'd like is a way to use EphPod to load m4a (AAC encoded) files to the iPod in a way where iPod recognizes the tag info and uses it.

You need to get 2.73. 2.70a is definitely the problem here. I was using 2.70a and the aac files were transferring with the wrong times, then I updated to 2.73 and everything works fine. I think it should fix your problems.

I tried to install 2.73 over 2.70a and I keep getting an error indicating that it is missing the ipudll.dll file? All my work arounds have failed. Any one have any suggestions. Also some of my aac file show up as bitrate 16, when I ripped them in itunes at 128. Itunes shows them as 128, ephpod says 16? I'm not sure if it is either a ephpod or itunes problem.

I was able to get 2.73 installed, but I'll have to wait until after work to see what could be causing the aac bitrate confusion.
