you dont actually need the program to remove the ipod. You can just use the "safely remove hardware" icon (green arrow) to remove the ipod. You can also just right click the removable drive that the ipod is, and select "eject". All do the exact same thing and wont make a difference as far as the ipod is concernd.

hwilst you may not NEED the program, it is an easier quicker way to disconnect ther iPod, and can be setup to be used with a remote control via Grider.
Anyone with the correct links please PM me!

Whilst searching on google, I found a link to the file ( http://www.pautinka.com/iPodRemove1_0.zip) which works.

right mouse button on the external device icon in the system tray, and select unplug or eject. works almost every time for me.
occasionally is says cannot - volume in use, in which case i just tear out the ipod and hurl it against the wall

Go into the task manager, go to processes, look for "flashksk.exe" if it's there, end it. It's part of a smart media card reader driver. Not sure what it does, but a search on the internet said leave it be. If you have a smart media card in the reader, it doesn't affect the ipod, but if a card isn't inserted, you get an error when attempting to remove the ipod saying that it's still in use.

iPodremove is good and all, coz u can assign it to a multimedia key on your keyboard.
but is there anyway you can initiate the program with a command line switch of some description, hiding the dialog box - wots the point when of pushing the multimedia key to eject, you then have to press the "OK" button on the window appears...
any ideas?

Trying to revive this thread as i am also trying to assign a command to a multimedia keyboard to eject my ipod easily.
Tried ipodremove but it doesn't seem to work with 5th gen Ipods - just says 'Ipod not found'
Any clever programers out there who can mod this freeware app?!

Hey, I have found an iPod ejection app. Right now there is no hotkey support (i heard thats coming though), all you have to do is double click it to eject your ipod.
w*w.managepod.gaming-forums.org
Click the D-Load button, and its called Ejectpod
