I use Windows XP. Can I use my iPod on both my Mac and Windows computers with Anapod?
The answer given in the FAQ doesn't mention Anapod:
Install and format your iPod for use on a Mac with the iPod Software for Mac. Install Ephpod, or XPlay with MacOpener on your Windows PC. MacOpener allows you to mount a Mac HFS+ formatted hard drive (iPod) on your PC. You can now sync your Mac formatted iPod with iTunes on your Mac and with Ephpod or XPlay on your Windows PC.
Will it work w/ Anapod?
Thanks,
Jon

YOu dont even need anapod to use the ipod on a mac and pc. Format your ipod as a fat32 (winipod), and you're ready to go. Apples can read the fat32 format fine. I use my ipod on my pc, and my girlfriends imac. No problems going between ephpod and itunes. Just make sure autosync is turned off or you'll loose all your music from the other machine.

Hi Lance--
Thanks for writing back. I don't use ephod, just the software that came w/ the ipod (Windows Version 2.0.1). How do I format my ipod to fat32. To be honest I'm not really sure what that means. Do I need to download ephod?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Jon

Might wanna wait until what happens tomorrow...iTunes for windows should be out.
Still though, you're going to have to decide which format your iPod should be. FAT32 or HFS+. FAT32 is you want to use it on your PC machine w/o additional software.
While Lance points out that he hasn't had problems using a WiPod in his mac, I know that others have. But I'm willing to bet things will improve w/iTunes for windows since the same program will be writing to the iPod's database.

hi guys--
again, i'm not sure what this fat32 is or how to make sure it's on my ipod. specifically, how do i make sure it's on my ipod? if it's not on my ipod, how do i make sure it's on my ipod?
this is prob. basic stuff/jargon but i'm just unfamiliar w/ it.
thanks,
jon

fat32 is just the standard diskformat for the windows ipod. If you used the windows updater, your ipod will be formatted in FAT32. If you ran updater on a mac, then you will be formatted as HFS+.
