Can anyone recommend any Automatic Beat Counting software (windows)?
I've been looking for something that will put a BPM in the id3 tags of a bunch of my mp3s. It seems that the DJ world knows how to do this but I haven't had much luck with anything I've downloaded.
Can anyone recommend something (pref free but I do sometimes pay for software) that can scan a bunch of files and tell me the approximate beats per minute?

Media Center 9 does it--it's not perfect, but it's the only one I know of that does this...

I feel the gravitational pull of MC9 getting stronger :-) Will MC9 make a good cup of tea too?
Thanks for the answer,

Well yes and no. It doesn't make tea by the cup, only by the pot...Heck, you can't have everything...

Boiled leaves in water... what will the monkey ask for next?
And what on earth makes someone in Napa and someone in Oshkosh (the place where people bring their home made planes??) think they can discuss tea :-) I've seen Americans make tea: luke warm water from a jug poured on a teabag that's lived a long and distinguished life in a cupboard.... I just gave up and had the coffee. ;-)
[Yeah... and I know every American has a similar story about what used to pass for coffee in most places over here!]

YES!! Another person who knows about the EAA!!!
Oh, and the warm water poured over a tea bag...How tacky...We'd NEVER do that here.
Why bother when an ice cold Lipton Brisk is in a convienently place soda machine right around the corner? And if I want the REALLY good stuff, I can put a teaspoon of the 'ol Lipton instant powder in a glass (Lemon flavored if I'm feeling REALLY frisky), fill it with my arsenic, iron, and sulphur laden well water, take a sip of this blissful concoction, and shout, "Yeah baby, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!!:D

I've only seen one program on the EAA in the context of a man who builds things on TV here... cars, bikes planes and even a helicopter.
To digress completely from iPod, the maddest job in the world, ever, is the man from the UK Civil Aviation Authority who turned up at the end of 24 programs (6 months) to check that the helicopter was fit to fly. He just turns up at some nutters garage, glances at a few pipes and checks that the thing *looks* stuck together OK, then takes it into the air! Mad.
