Ephpod sync problem

I recently switched from MMJB to Ephpod, and I'm having some problems. Ephpod seemed to recognize all my MMJB databases fine, and it read the data that was already loaded onto the iPod fine also. I ran into the problem when I tried to add new playlists via Ephpod.

I opened the .m3u files, and it appeared to transfer the files fine (about 25gb worth of music, took a little under 2 hours). However, when I tried to exit Ephpod to unmount the iPod and listen to it, Ephpod gave me an error and crashed, and the iPod wouldn't stop flashing "Do Not Disconnect." Windows also would not let me unmount the iPod as a firewire device, saying "this device can't be stopped right now, try again later." Thanks for the magic 8-ball approach to hardware, Microsoft. I ultimately had to shut down my PC to take the iPod off, and then it had deleted all but one of my playlists, but there were two ghost playlists--lists that had no text but could still be scrolled through, but seemed to contain no music. Very odd, and very frustrating.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I really don't want to go back to MMJB, because the transfer times are ridiculous, and frankly the program simply doesn't work with the iPod properly (Why it was packaged with the unit I'll never know). On the other hand, at least with MMJB I could get *some* music onto the unit, as opposed to having none on it like I do now. I've read great things about Ephpod, and it really seemed like everything was working properly, but as of now my iPod is a $500 paperweight.

Here are the salient specs:

40gb iPod
Belkin Firewire card (Windows version purchased at the Apple store)
p4 2.0 gHz processor
768mb RAM
WinXP Pro

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
