is it possible...
to get my playlists OFF of my iPod and into Media Center?
I originally loaded my iPod with MMJB (yea, I know.. big mistake).. well, since I just got my new 40 gig, I thought I'd fix that mistake and switch over to MC.
My problem is I don't have all my play lists on my machine any more. I have deleted them (after I loaded my iPod I didn't need them anymore).
Is there any way for MC to read my iPod DB and pull the play lists out, or is there a program that will do that? or am I out of luck?

I am no expert, but after using MC9 for only 2 evenings, I have fallen in love with the smartlist feature. Unless you have very specific playlists ( ie certain tracks of certain artists) you can create smartlists pretty quiclky. Read the stickys at the top of the forum for some pretty good general instructions and just take it from there. So far I have not found a way to take old playlists off of the iPod back to MC, but unless it would be to much trouble to re-create them, you will probably be better off just making new smartlists for them. I'm sure othres here have more knowlege than me, but that's my $.02

There isn't a way to do that through any program. It's because the iPod's playlists are just stored as values in the iPod's database and not in any file format.
Doesn't mean it couldn't be done, no one's done it just yet.

Yeah.. I figured that out last night.. but I did it manually, by loading the tracks in each playlist from the iPod in Music Match, then saving them to the HD.
Then I copied the iPod_control directory off my 30gig and via some minor computer/pathing magic I was able to import the lists into MC.. Now I'll clean up the tags and remove the duplicates and get everything organized better in MC before I send them all to the new 40gig iPod!
