iPod synch dialog box question

In MC 9.1.260 when I want to synch my iPod I right-click on the iPod in the explorer and click "Synchronise". I then see a dialog box showing my smartlists and just below that are 3 options:

Delete unselected files from portable
Update Tags
Synch data to MC

What does this last one do?

It sends playcounts and any ratings you may have changed back to your MC9 library on your computer to update it--it's what we've been begging for--it allows you to pemanently change ratings on your ipod and transfer them to MC9, but more importantly, allows you to make smartlists using "last played" or "playcount" data, like our Macpod bretheren, or "brethera", in Shaq speak (anyone see that in Sports Illustrated? LMAO when I saw it...).

So are there now TWO ways to get the rating and playcount info from iPod to MC?

What I have been doing up to now is a 2-step process:

1. In MC explorer, right click on iPod, select "Import iPod data into MC" (just under "Synchronise")

2. Then right-click and "Synchronise"

Are you telling me that I can do this all in one step now? If so that would be great!

Please could someone confirm, thanks all.

hehe, yes, you can do it all in one step. Where have you been CarveGybe? We've been asking for this from Steve for a while now. ;)

He left the other options there in case folks wanted to do it that way...

Just click on the iPod Toolbar icon and you're in business.
