Ouch!-Earphone SHOCK?
Hey I was wondering if anyone else has ever gotten shocked by their ipod earphones with foam pads on IN THE EAR while walking around (And what they did about it.)?-and no I wasn't wearing socks and scuffing along a carpet- this was on the street. It kind of defeats the purpose of having an iPod and looking cool when you are walking around getting electrocuted in the ear...All of the sudden the music got all fuzzy and then ZAP ARGH..that was my ear..gosh darn it that hurt...kinda scary

I have even switched out other earphones and that worked fine, no dull shocking or random static. It must be these specific earbuds, I'm going to try to return them, hopefully the Apple peeps will believe me since no one here has really heard of it...of course they could just put the earbuds in their ear and get a nice buzz!!

My stock earbuds were stripped so I haven't used them in a long time. When I took my iPod in for exchange yesterday, they gave me a new pair. I forgot how bad the earshocks were. Just sitting in my chair at work and reaching across for a pencil . . . . ZAP POP!
I'm through with the stock earbuds. ow. :)

####... that sounds scary man. though my ears kinda hurts a little after listening for about 1 and a half hours. but i think that happens even with other earphones.

I would send it back, sounds like somethings wrong.
Reminds my of when I was in a band, when my mic was grounded, and my bass wasn't, if I was touching my bass strings and my lips touched the microphone, ZAP. ouwy.

i've had this problem as well, but it's not just with ipod's. basically, the earbuds are picking up static electricity from your clothing and the headphones aren't insulated enough (i have really bad time whenever i wear cashmere). i used to have a pair of sony eggo's and it never happened with those. i have had the problem with the ipod earbuds and sony ones as well.
