How to remove songs from iPod??
Hello, there. My 10 GB iPod is now full. Problem is every time I connect it to charge it I get the message that tells me it is full and the "do not disconnect" never goes off. So I reset it and disconnect it and I still get the message that says things may have been damaged or whatever. so, my questions is this: My wife has a bunch of music in iTunes that I don't want on my iPod...and there is a bunch of music of mine I would like to put on in place of that. So, is there a way to get m wifes songs off my iPod without actually deleting the file? There are also some comedy clips (simpsons) and stand up comedy stuff that are very long that I don't want on there as well. thanks!

You can do it several ways but they all involve telling iTunes which songs you want on the iPod.
When you connect your iPod and launch iTunes, click the iPod prefs button on the lower right.
You can now choose to either automatically update only selected playlists or to manually update songs and playlists.
I recommend the first one. You can then make playlists that contain your music and ones that contain your wife's music. You can also not include those longer files in any of the playlists.
Then make sure the playlists you want are checked and those you don't want are not checked. Choose the update iPod option under File and it should take care of everything.
Now if you want to put your wife's stuff back on, uncheck yours and put hers on.
There are many ways to get more advanced than this using smart playlists [like setting a limit of 10gb- the size of your iPod] and unchecking and checking individual songs. Play around and see what you can come up with to meet your needs.

Ok, so you can edit the playlists..but what takes up the space is the actually library. Are you saying you can have just certain playlists on your ipod without having your whole library?

Yes, that's what we're saying. Have you read the help file in iTunes?
