Mac Websites
Apart from this excellent site (;)), what are your favourite other Apple/Mac websites?
Post the addresses and a bit of a description about why they're any good wouldn't go a miss too!
Thanks
Jim

I like http://www.apple-history.com/
It, like the name says, is a history of Apple. It has an overview of the company, and in-depth facts about every model. It's pretty cool.
And, no, I don't work for them.

A really good site is MacRumors ( http://www.macrumors.com) . They're usually ahead of everyone when it comes to rumors. It's updated daily, and they usually have interesting posts.

www.macnn.com and their forum, forums.macnn.com
Very informative, has the latest news, and the people on the forum know so much, you can literally ask anything about anything Apple there!

macsurfer.com collects headlines from many sources and has direct links to many excellent mac sites, from acceler8yourmac to macfixit to macosxhints to macwindows, etc. It's the best place to start. Besides the permanent links, they also pick up articles from many other mac sites, so you can find those. They also pick up general industry news, but the mac stuff and mac sites are the main focus.
macslash.org is what it sounds like, inspired by slashdot but for macs. For example, today there is a link to an article on ars mac (arstechnica's mac forums) which discusses a very cool Panther feature - that it defragments files as they're used.
slashdot itself has an apple section, which can be reached either through slashdot.org or directly at apple.slashdot.org. These topics are pretty interesting but often turn into PC v Mac wars.
there are a million rumor sites, from thinksecret.com to macosrumors.com to crazyapplerumors.com, etc.
an entertaining site is as the apple turns, which is at appleturns.com. They write up "psychotic" episodes in the world of mac.

Ipod & Itunes
On three ocasions itunes has delected my library and i'm having to create smartlists etc again and again.
Does anybody know if it's possible to copy smartslist directly from the ipod and place them back into Itunes?
or even synchronize what i have on my ipod with whats on my hard drive?? so everything that's on the ipod comes restores back onto my hard drve?? including most of all playlists?

Dean,
You'll get more responces if you start a new thread that pertains to your problem. Click 'new topic' and state your problem again.
I do think there is a way to get your playlists from your pod. But better yet, create a back up of your regulare playlists by going to Export Playlist in iTunes. I've not used it myself, but from my understanding it should help reload your regular playlists should they get lost again.

nobody mentioned www.macupdate.com? that's where you can find almost any application you may need.
