iPod will not mount
Today I connected my 2nd gen. iPod up to my iMac for the first time in a while. I recently installed OS 10.2.8. the iPod will not mount on the desktop or be recognized by iTunes. iSync was unable to find the iPod either.
the LCD on the iPod has the usual "no" sign with "Do not disconnect". well, I disconected it and it's stuck like that and has completely frozen up.
Does anyone know a solution?
Thank You!

Hello Dr. K!
I am having the same issue as well. Its really odd as the iPod will
show up as an Icon on the desktop, then the iPodUpdater starts up.
When I click update, zap! iPod unmounts itself and updater #####es
about no iPod mounted.
However, I'm starting to think maybe this is an update to skip given
the number of odd ball problems people are posting. Besides, momma
told me never take updates ending in an odd number :)
# 2 Re: iPod will not mount
when i ran the update the updater screen did say that there was no ipod mounted when i ran it but i looked at the ipod and it was updating the firmware. the updater unmounts the ipod from the desktop in order to update it. i did have to restart my mac (with the ipod still im the dock) to get it to mount on the mac again though.
