iPod Mounting after Charging...

I just got an iPod last week (my first!) and everything has been great so far. I've only noticed one problem...

After it reaches full charge (unmounted) on the dock, my iPod automatically mounts and shows the "do not disconnect" message. I don't want to have to sit and wait for it to charge and then unmount it as soon as it mounts, and I don't want to leave it mounted for an extended period of time either. I've searched the forum over and over and can't find anyone who mentions this problem.

I'm using windows xp with a belkin firewire card. I'm using iPod manager to mount/unmount my iPod because, for some reason, the "safely remove hardware" icon that I've read about does not show up in my taskbar.

If anyone can tell me how to fix this problem (or even offer a guess) I would appreciate it.

Thank you
