Library Synchronization With IPod

Hello everyone:

I have been slowly acclimating myself to iTunes.

My question will be obvious to many but being a Music Match man, I cannot for the life of me, figure out how to synchronize my library with my IPod when adding new music to my library.

As insane as it is, every time I add a bunch of music to my library, I will immediately CLEAR the IPod of its contents and then drag and drop the contents of my library to the IPod. I noticed that the IPod is still not smart enough to prevent duplicates from being added. For example, I could add U2?s greatest hits a dozen times to the IPod and it would duplicate every file twelve-fold.

What is the best method to ensure that your library files exactly match those found on the IPod and what is the easiest method to synchronize?

Thank you for your help!

Take care?

Duplicates are almost always created by improper tags. If you used MM to tags your mp3's, there could be spaces that are causing your problem. I had the same with mine. I would use a good tagging program or itunes itself to correct the problem. I don't know why you are "clearing" your ipod of it's songs that is not necessary. I just drag the new songs over manually.
