iTunes needs a "refresh database" button!
Sometimes the design of iTunes is really arrogant. It assumes you'd never use another program to change id3 tags. I want to go through my library and fill in tags with MusicMatch SuperTags, but it takes some nudging to get iTunes to update the database with the new id3 tag info. A huge chore if you're updating hundres of files.
Anyone find an easy workaround to get iTunes to check id3 changes?

You're right. As an "iapp", iTunes is designed to be super easy to use and and all-in-one app for you to manage your tunes. It's totally designed with the non-power user in mind.
But that's why people claim Macs are so easy to use, well, one reason among many.
