I just got my ipod a couple of weeks ago, and have been using itunes to rip/transfer my cd collection. Since I have so many cd's to rip, I haven't been being too careful about editing the tags as I go. Today I started to go back and edit some of the tags. I was surprised to find out that when I changed the genre in itunes, it didn't just change the tag on the ipod, but it actually made a new copy of the song on the ipod. That is, I now had two copies of the song on the ipod, listed under two different genres. Any way around this? I will probably just delete all the songs off the ipod when I'm done editing tags in itunes, and re-sync from new to the ipod. Just wondering if there is another way to do this in the long term.
