How to delete songs from BOTH libray and HD?

Is there a way to delete a song both from the Itunes libray AND from the HD (? la Windows Media Player)? The only workaround I have found so far is to ask Itunes to "show" me the song file, delete it from the DH and then delete it also from the songs list in my Library. Any help would be apreciated.

It will work as loGan says as long as you have your tunes in the iTunes folder.Adam

If you go into your library and right click on the song, you'll get a screen with the delete on it. Choose that, and you'll get another screen asking if you just want to delete if from your library, or also from you HD--make sure the HD option is checked--works great.dmt1 at 2007-11-15 16:47:57 >

Thanks for your help. I've checked and the trick is indeed to have Itunes consolidate your files in the Itunes folder (otherwise, the songs is just taken out of the library but will remain on your HD or wherever). I'm going to send a request to Apple to allow for deletion of music files regardless of where the files happens to be located.hhvuong at 2007-11-15 16:48:57 >
