Heeey, chin up! It's not that bad.

Assuming you have a PC or Mac with a Firewire connection, and a Firewire cable, I'd start by installing iTunes. Once that's up and running and is showing your tunes on the computer, plug in your iPod and the magic should start happening. Good luck!

It said some of the songs in the Itunes music library were Not copied to the Ipod because they cannot be played on the Ipod.
Some of the songs equal all of them. I must be doing something wrong:confused:

maybe to start off try changeing to manual syn by clicking the ipod in the bottom right coner of itunes to chage the prefrences.. then jsut drag the songs to ipod in small groups some times if you try to drag your whole collection at once it doesn't work very well.. Are the songs that are not working WMA cause they dont work on ipod only WAV MP3 and ACC and a few others but not WMA..

For i tunes step by step...

1) open itunes go to the EDIT menu and click PREFRENCES

2) Then click the IMPORTING tab

3) Select the format MP3 or ACC and the bit rate you want to rip your cd's at.

4) whilst in the PREFRENCES window click the GENERAL tab and check the box "Connect to internet when needed" this will alow itunes to connect to a tract listing data base so itunes can fix all the tags on your cd's.

5) Click OKEY

6) Now insert a CD in to your CD drive, hope fully it will appear in itunes with a new icon on the left saying the CD name, at the saem time as this is coming up a pop up window quite small centred should appear with a status bar telling the user that itunes is searching for track names and other related info.

7) This should pop up window should disapear and all the track info should be displaying in the main window.

8) Now to import, previously you have set all you settings for ripping CD's e.g. MP3 VBR 192KB/s. To rip a single track right click on that track and click the "Convert selection to MP3" or if you have your setings to WAV or AAC it will display like wise.

This song will be place in you itunes library as well as in the itunes music folder in "My Music"

9) To import the entire album in the top right corner of the itunes window is a small circle with an arrow pointing to a music note, as well as import underneath. Click this button and the entire album will be ripped track by track to your library and itunes music folder.. a little icon next to each track is displayed it is yellow with amoving sine curve to show wich track is being ripped.

10) Once you have ripped the CD's that you wish, plug you ipod in to the firewire port on your computer. itunes will load your iPod and the ipod window will be displayed as the main window adn others will be in the menu on the left.

11) This is for Manual sync... in the bottom right corner on the itunes window a small icon of an ipod will appear click on this and chage the settings to manual sync.

12) On the left menu double click the ipod so it opens as a window in front of the main itunes window. Now that you have two windows move them on the screen so you can see both clearly at the same time. It is helpful to have the main itunes window as big as posible so you can see all your tracks and position the ipod window so it is visible.

13) for the fun part. High light the songs in the itunes library that you wish to place on your ipod, once they are selected either drag the selectd songs from the itunes library to the ipod window or in the itunes window drag the songs on to to the ipod icon either way works well.

14) To make playlists on the ipod open the ipod window click the playlist button bottem left and then name it simply drag the songs to that playlist and manage it maualy by adding or deleting required songs.

15) To creat a smart playlist that you can edit either in itunes or on the ipod itself press SHIFT this will change the plus symold to a cog wheel "smart list" select the crteria i use a playlist that adds all 5 Star rated songs to the playlist.

16) Click the unmount button in the bottom right corner to remove your ipod make sure the tick is displaying on the screen.

17) if you made a smart list e.g the 5 star smart list browse around your ipod when a song is playing hit the sentre button twice and rotate the wheel to chage the stars to 5 * * * * *. Now this song will be added to the 5 star smart list. to remove it clear all the stars.. all changes will be also viewable when connected to the computer through itunes...

hope some of these things help..

if you need more specific help tell me the number or part of the process that you are having trouble with.. or just yell at me about spelling and grama and i might be able to re write it in a clear fashion.

Thanks, Dougs.

Dammm , now thats some kinda detail post. Thanks. I got the MMJB to work last night and was quite happy about that. What is the big difference between I2ns and MMJB.
I will copy and save your post for when Im ready to fight again.

Did I read somewhere that you cant have both installed at the same time or they conflict?

You can have both instaled at the same time migh want to chage the settings so that they dont atomaticle open when the ipod connects other wise you may have a few screens popping up!

for itunes it is the little ipod icon in teh bottom right corner of the itunes window click that and un check the box "load itunes when connected" sorry not sure for MM you may i didn't use it very much

for 12) not a big dif i think in MM when you load ipod the main library is up the top and ipod window loads underneath?? so you can have both open to transfer.. so they are conected in MM the windows dock together right.. but you can move them for itunes they are two separte windows like to Internet explore windos but they can be sized to fit next to each other to drag songs from ituens to ipod..

or as i also said you can use the one main itunes window and drag the songs from the itunes winodw to the icon of the ipod on the left.

Is that a format or just organised using that program if they are organised in the program they should be in a folder on your computer, find the folder and use itunes or MM to transfer the songs.
