iPod wont accept Music Store songs
Maybe I'm missing something completely obvious...
After downloading some music into iTunes from the Music Store, I'm not able to drag & drop any of it onto my iPod (cursor turns into the circle with the slash whenever it passes over the iPod in 'Source' list.)
I've been forced to rip MP3's from the CD's I burned with the Music Store songs, and then import them into iTunes just to get them onto my iPod.
Do I need to update the firmware to 1.3? (I'm using 1.2.6 now)
Everything else with iTunes seems to work fine.
Anyone?

Yes, I'm pretty sure 1.3 is what adds AAC support.

This may be a silly question but, are you changing the settings in itunes to "manually update ipod" insead of "automatic update"?

The problem is definitely the firmware. 1.2.6 does not support AAC. Once Alupa updates to 1.3 transfer of AAC files will be possible.

Just updated to 1.3, which did the trick.
Thanks!

thanks adam.
i do have the right firmware - as for iTunes, in my case the song had to be moved to it's own songlist from purchased music and then could be dragged to the ipod.
go figure.
