Album Art?
Hi,
Whilst listening to my favourite tunes today at work I noticed on the visualization screen there was album art on certain songs.
Where did this come from I have not downloaded any myself and how do I add art for the rest of my files?
Thanks
Nige.

When you import a CD, iTunes will add the album art *if* it can find it.
When you download a song from iTMS, it has album art.
MMJB and a couple other progs will also add album art, if you had imported through those a while ago.
There's no automatic way to add album art to the rest of your files, but it's easy to do. Go to www.allmusic.com or www.amazon.com, and search for an album. There's no need to save the .jpg on your desktop... just drag it straight from Internet Explorer into where iTunes says "Drag Album Art Here" in the bottom left of the library window. (Make sure you have all the songs in that particular album selected).
*If you don't have the album art box in the bottom left of the library window, click the fourth button from the left in the bottom left corner of iTunes.
To see the full-res version of the album art, click in the box. :) For this feature, it's best to use Amazon.com's "Click here for Larger Photo" feature under the thumbnail.
I did this to my entire library while I was REALLY bored one Sunday afternoon. It takes an unfortunate amount of time, but COULD be a lot harder. ;)

Thanks for the help people. I am now in the process of downloading covers form my albums.
Just one more question are the covers added to the mp3 file?
Thanks
Nige.

BTW you'll find the highest resolution (largest) album art pix at www.buy.com and www.walmart.com. And for those Bjork fans out there you can get great high-res pix of front, back and liner notes from her site, www.bjork.com

Is the album art thus copied to the Ipod?

loGan:
The albmum art data is added to the mp3 file itself, so the answer to your question is yes, it is copied to the ipod.
Of course, you can't see it on the ipod screen, (yet)

Yes, and you might want to be checking how much bigger those files are going to be w/album art added to them before you go willy-nilly copying album art.
That's why I prefer the option to store album art externally to the file...hopefully iTunes will add this at some point.
