I have used Ephpod for a long time (since I got the iPod). Now I'm using iTunes, I like it better. iTunes doesn't rearrange my music.

BTW: when did you use iTunes last time? It was just released a week ago...
# 3 Re: Convince Me
When it came out , i gave it a try. It rearranged all my music so i swiftly uninstalled it.

The best way to be conivinced is to use the program, Aspect.
Download the newest version (4.1.1) the arrange music is no longer default on this version. Read a little bit about what itunes does before installing. Read the forums on itunes here. And try it. That is the only way you are going to decide if itunes are for you.
Know that Ephpod will not let you sync OTG playlists, playcounts, or ratings. At this time only itunes does all these things. So if these are important to you. You should seriously think about trying itunes again. Of course if you don't want to use no one here is going to cry.

itunes lets you do more than ephpod (in many ways). media center 9 lets you do even more. just spend some time reading in the subsequent fora and you?ll find all the answers.

seriously if u dont want to experience better software then go ahead and keep using ephpod...its your lost not ours. not trying to be cynical or anything but its the truth. convincing yourself is better than us talking bout it.

...and it looks unreal. Crisp, clear - the perfect accessory for the iPod! I love it. Plus, with iTunes the wake up feature with playlists works, unlike with MC 9.

I would have gladly given up the "unreal, crisp, clear" 'brushed metal' look of iTunes for a "drab" MC9-like look (which is fine by me), if, in return, the program would not hesitate before resizing its window...

and how often would you need to resize the window? I only needed to do it once... for me, the advantages of iTunes far exceed its disadvantages.

how do you get headlines and weather? on itunes

I found it quite a painful transition but one that I persevered with because I really thought the power of the Smart Playlists was worth the pain.
Initially some of the less than intuitive functionality and the Naming terminology of some of the Drop down lists put me off and my fear of messing with my Music Library Directory. When it takes so long to create it, the thought of something messing with it is a big barrier.
However, when you actually bite the bullet and let Itunes sort out your music files it does it very well (as long as you don't let it start copying them to another directory). It also syncs very well and the smart playlists are fantastic.
It will take a while to get used to adding files via drag and drop and it would be nice to have more Ipod functions like "Wipe Ipod Clean" , "check for Dupes" etc etc but even without them it is beginning to seriously grow on me.
Now that it is set up and I have avoided the mass copying of files, stopped getting dupes in the library, learnt how to delete from library, learnt how not to sync all songs every time, figured out the smart playlists it is truly a great program and I would recomend it to anyone with the patience to figure out the slightly quirky interface and the bravery to mess with the mp3 directory.
Some of my original problems stemmed from the fact that I swear by Esspens volume boosting program except every time I ran it Itunes would then want to sync my entire collection of musci again. I finally bit the bullet and just volume levelled all my songs up 20% which I had been slightly scared of doing before because I don't like the idea of messing with my mp3 but can safely say that it works absolutely great, did no harm and now the music is played on my Ipod at the volume that I like without the need for the seperate App EU volume booster. While I want to thank Esspen for his great app now that I can do it in Itunes it does save a bit of time.
It wasn't love at first sight but I could see the potential which menat that I persevered and now am very happy.
