Couldn't find this searching . . .

I've tagged songs in iTunes with an EQ preset (e.g. all Jazz genre toons with a Jazz present) but when I go to the iPod under settings when a Jazz tune is playing it says it's off.

Does setting EQ presets work? Is there a way to tell (minus the ear test).
