Corrupted disk

Well my entire computer has locked up solid 4 different times now. 2 times corrupting the iTunes database. Once corrupting the iPod disc, leaving many truncated files on the iPod. THis last time after a reboot, my MSOffice directory is crosslinked... Outlook is wiped out. I am in the process of freshning my back up of all of my digital photos and MP3's before I find out how badly the damage to my disk is.

And before anyone blames it on memory, I have an Athlon 2100, 1.5Gig Ram, 30, 80, 100 Gig drives, Adaptec 4300 firewire card... All applications have run fine, including MC9 and ephPod, until loadingiTunes.

Now I know some of you will say you aren't having problems... And I am sure you are not... I was amazed when I first got my iPod and loaded ephPod and it worked flwalessly, when lots of others were having problems.

But I think the noise level here, and even higher noise level at the Apple support forums says that this application is not at all ready for prime time... And I question at this point if the MAC developers should give up now... not sure they really understand how to write code outside of there hermetically sealed eviroment.
