Making individual playlists shuffle

I tried making one of the playlists that I have on my iPod play in a shuffle order with iTunes, but when I play the playlist on my iPod it's not randomly playing mp3s. Is this only possible with Smart Playlists?

On the ipod you can't tag certain playlists to shuffle or not like you can in itunes. It's all or nothing on the ipod. Under settings -> songs, albums, off

Stu's right (and being that he's my brother, it's hard for me to admit that). Shuffle on the iPod is either on or it's off.

However, there is a trick I've learned. Playlists on the iPod mirror the order the songs appear in iTunes. If you sort by artist, they appear in artist order on the iPod and so on. So, if you want a playlist on the iPod to be in a random order, simply set that playlist to shuffle in iTunes and then sort by track number in the upper left of the window. When you sync, the songs will appear in that order on the iPod.

Be sure to turn off shuffle under your iPod's settings, or it will reorder them when you play the list.

Hope this helps.
