procedure for installing iTunes & 2.1 updater
Was thinking it might be helpful if people could post the procedure that they used to install the 2.1 firmware update and iTunes and whether it worked or not. Also once they are both set up ok, how did you go about getting iTunes synced with the ipod which is already loaded with tunes?
Good and bad experiences would be good, then we will know what or what not to do, I'll be doing this myself tomorrow.

# 1 Re: procedure for installing iTunes & 2.1 updater
Installed iTunes, then noticed a new ipod software update was available, and installed that, and only when that told me to insert my ipod did I plug in the USB. I did have to manually close the ipod updater before the progressbar reached 100 percent, but the update seems to have gone allright.
iTunes launches as soon as I plug in the ipod, and it works perfectly.
iTunes was set to manual sync by default on my system, which is strange since other people have mentioned it autosyncs for them. Maybe it picked the settings up from some already installed software. Getting stuff on the ipod was super-easy. Just make sure it shows up in the library, and drag-and-drop. Easier than musicmatch, that's for sure.
I'm not going to try autosync, because I only have 1 gig of free space on my PC, and 5 gigs of MP3's on my ipod.

After successfully installing iTunes and getting it to work without any problems, apart from turning off the autosync, in my wisdom I decided to run the updater from 2.0.1 to 2.1. After successfully running the updater, after rebooting my system I can no longer get any iPod recognition from iTunes. Is there a way to drop the iPod's OS back to 2.0.1? The only software that now recognizes that the iPod's actually there seems to be Ephpod and Anapod, but even that's completely screwed up now since updating to OS 2.1.
