iTunes wont recognize my iPod!

When I first downloaded iTfW today it was fine. After getting out of it and then going back in, I can't get it to recognize my iPod!! Nor can I update my firmware because it says iPod is not connected.

Anyone know how to fix this? Previously I was using MC9 and had to 'mount' my iPod. Now...they system tray icon to do that is MIA.

:(

I wish I could help but I am having the same problem. My ipod worked fine with Xplay, but itunes nor ipod update will recognize it. All I get is "cant mount ipod"

I don't know what the heck happened. I had to uninstall iTunes and then re-install my iPod software for my PC to recognize my iPod again.

Now I'm in the process of trying to upgrade the firmware before I try to install iTunes again. It sure is taking forever though. :(

Something like this is happening to me as well, at first I had the crashing issue when I plpugged the iPod, but after removing some songs that seemed corrupted files everything was supposed to be in order. To my surprise it wasn't and now I've got this not-recognising issue.

It really intrigues me the fact that the iPod does appear for a small fraction of time, then it just goes and there's no more iPod functionality ...strange if you ask me!!!

Mahler I had that problem...

I noticed that if I put music on with ephpod then itunes would recognize it... had to has some files on it...

Then I went back to the 2.1 updater and let is do a restore on my ipod... after that itunes recognized it...

Then it crashed two times trying to load songs... once coruppting the itunes database... then itunes would not run until i manually found the database file and deleted it...
