problems synching ipod with itunes

is anybody else finding it difficult to sync your ipod with itunes? i cant seem to do it, and the update songs on ipod menu command doesnt work. please help someone

Is your ipod gen3? Try updating your ipod to 2.1 software that came out today. It sounded like that fixed another persons problem.Cheers,

It's set to manual sync with me. Update songs is grayed out too, but I can upload files via drag-and-drop. The documentation says update songs is only used when you want it to autosync in the midst of a library editing session, or something like that (I'm not too wild about the completeness and clarity of the documentation).jsebrech at 2007-11-15 16:48:30 >

Another thing if you are on autosync and you can't update songs. Make sure you select the ipod in the source window and then select the update ipod option. If you are manually updating you only update via drag and drop and the update function is never used. On auto sync, another way to update your ipod is to simply disconnect it (if it is safe to do so) and then plug it back in. It should run and update the ipod library.Cheers,
