Whos Your Daddy!? - Happy Ending.

Well, every story has either a good or bad ending. For me, it all started bad and then it finished good. BAD: after trying to upgrade the firmware to 2.1, my iPod went flat-line. I tried just about anything I could to make come back. It would not repond anymore. Then I took it to where I bought it, so it could be repaired it. A week and a half passed, and they could not fix it themselves. GOOD: Today they called me and told me that I was going to get a replacement; so I went to the store and talked to the tech and told me that I could get another 30 Gig; or I could upgrade to a 40 (I would pay the difference). Since the only 30 Gig iPod left for me to take was an open-box one, I decided to take the 40 and pay the difference and price. BUT GUESS WHAT!? For my surprise the 40 Gig is at the same price as when I bought my 30, so I did not have to pay any dinero.
AND GUESS WHAT ELSE!? It has the blue light and not the gray.
But now my concern is whether I should try to upgrade to 2.1 or not.
I love my new iPod:D

Well, you must've been unlucky and have gotten a damaged ipod or something. This is the first time I heard an ipod go wrong because of firmware upgrades. I'd go for it.

As a matter of fact, there's approximately 70 iPoders that have experienced this problem... all in different flavors of course. My iPod, for example, could not be used any more. If you check the thread with the title "OK to Disco" you'll read the many situations where upgrade failed for some of us.

Yes indeed, I will try to upgrade my new ipod to the latest firmware.
