Apple Thinks Im Ripping Them Off!
heres the deal:
about a week after i bought my 3g 20gb ipod (sept 30) the connection where the remote plugs into the ipod wore down, and now cuts out if i bend it. so i went to http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/ and sent in for a new remote. well two weeks later, no remote in the mail, and no info about it in my "review cases" page. called them up today and gave them all my info and they said "Your repair hasn't been accepted sir. It may deal with fraud."
now i have to phone tomorrow and talk with a higher up csr. the thing is IM NOT TRYING TO RIP THEM OFF I JUST WANT A NEW REMOTE!!:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

Well, I know I've frauded them alot... Dropped iPods down the stairs, in the snow... Oh man. Free remotes, Docks, Cables, Headphones... Apple just sends them over! Yay!
Hm. Oh well... Poor Poor Jamie.

Well, Apple loses money when they send free things to you. If it's their fault, then they should, but they don't know that. Because of people like couchpotato1440, they have to be careful who they send replacements to.

what makes me even angrier, is the fact that i had to CALL them to find out, they should have email me or something 2 weeks ago when the decided that my case was fraudulent

I am kind of surprised they would use the term "fraud" with a customer over the phone.
I have had experiences with companies not immediately approving a repair/replacement but they sugar coated it and just delved deeper into my story.
Now in reality I know they think I am trying to screw them over so they want to make sure my story checks out but they do it in a way as to not offend. Kind of what you would expect from customer service.
But to use the word fraud and say you need to speak to a "higher up" you would think you set fire to your 2003 Lexus and then reported it stolen. I understand the reasoning behind not blindly sending out replacement parts but on such a small item and in the intrest of not offending the customer they probably could have been a bit more tactful.

Don't worry, 2 of my remotes also broke in that exact same place. I'm amazed that Apple does not aknowledge this blatant design flaw.

My remote broke too, but they sent me a new one... I would tell them that fraud is a criminal action, and by saying that your request is fraud, they are calling you a criminal... I would tell them that they have to stand behind their product, and if something breaks within the warranty time, they are obligated to replace it.

i think they think that im lying about it, and all i want is free stuff, hey, im not complaining about free stuff, free stuff rocks, but in this case my remote REALLY broke

its ok now, i phoned them, gave them my dispatch number, and apparently the person who took the order originally never completed it, so it never got past "pending"
the person i talked to was really nice, and im sorry i ever doubted apple!
it either ships today or tomorrow!
