Cant play audio books

I've downoaded an audio book from audible.com the file is 6hours long, when i tell the ipod to play it it just sits there and does nothing. Is the file too big for it?

I am using a GEN2 10gig for windows, but now use it on a mac computer, it is still formatted for windows because i still have the windows machine.

Not sure what the problem is, I have a similar iPod, G2 10G Windows used on a Mac. So mine's been reformatted, running the 1.3 Mac firmware. My longest audible file is _Queen_Margot_ (Unabridged) which comes in at 17:05:35 according to iTunes. Plays just fine for me as well as shorter files (I have 95 audible files, been a subscriber for awhile.) I haven't played all of them on my iPod, but I've played quite a number and they all seem fine to me. I always choose format 3 over the mpg format 4 when I download.

I'd suggest you re-download the book and delete then reinstall it on your iPod and see what happens.

As far as I know, the only difference between PC and Mac firmware 1.3 is support for AAC (mpg4) format is only with the Mac firmware but audible doesn't do AAC.
