Dropped the iPod!
Yes I dropped my iPod, in its docking station. Only from my desk to the floor, but still. It was terrifying.
The iPod itself seems fine - but when I put it in the docking station and plug my speakers in the docking station, the sound is tinny and horrible. When I plug my speakers in the iPod earphone port, the sound is fine/normal.
Anyone know what happened to the docking station, how I can fix it? What's the story on Apple fixing such things and the general $$?

While at work today I was jumping off he back of the liftgate of my truck with the iPod clipped on my pocket in the apple carry case and it popped out and smacked into the ground"concrete"!!!
How much abuse can these things take?
BTW my iPod plays and functions normally after it all.

the case you get with the ipod is PANTS. the clip breaks after about a month, the ipod can slip out too easily and the little apple tag can scratch the back of the ipod!
the first thing i bought for my ipod was a new case for it! the xtreme mac one is very good, has a sturdy clip that won't fall off and it allows access to the ipod controls so no need for the extra long remote cable.
