iTrip not broadcasting

After much anticipation, I finally got my new iTrip today. But I haven't gotten it to work at all.

After installing all the software as per the manual, I tried tuning my radio to the default frequency. In my area, this is not a clear channel, but I was able to hear the music from the iPod fighting through the station's signal. I then located the clearest channel I could find (100.1) and tried to change the frequency of the iTrip. I followed the instructions, the LED (which is red, not blue as the manual states, but whatever) blinked rapidly, I hit pause, the LED continued to blink rapidly for another second or so, then blinked slowly three times. That all seems like what it's supposed to do. I then choose a song and hit play, but the radio continued to get nothing but static -- not even a trace of music from the iPod. I've since tried to set the frequency numerous times and the same thing happens. I've tried different frequencies, I've tried adjusting the volume in all sorts of directions, I've turned off and unplugged everything ... nothing seems to have any effect. Once, after setting the frequency as I've described, the radio went from static to silence. When I picked a song and hit play it sounded pretty good -- until I tried adjusting the volume on the iPod. Then it instantly went back to pure static as before and I've been unable to get it to play again.

I couple of other people have posted similar problems, but they were both with iTrips that had been working, and they both seemed to spontaneously heal themselves eventually. Mine has never worked, and I'm still waiting for the healing.

Anybody have similar problems or any suggestions?

Well it sounds like seomthing si wrong with your unit. My father has an itrip and he called me up this mornign describnig the same problem. The song comes in for a little bit then just goes back to static.

One thign that might be happening is that when you press pause to select the station, you might be press play again, so it finished the frequency track and jsut like any other song, automatically goes to the next frequency track and starts playing that one. That is why it locks on, and then you get static again. jsut a thought. Otherwise something is wrong with your unit.
