To use with Jetta 02 HU and Belkin auto kit.
Ok so I bought the Belkin auto kit. And I pulled the HU out of my 2002 Jetta 1.8T. It has a double-din Monsoon system. I checked to see what kind of adapter I need. Obviously it the cd changer piece. But what third party site can I order it from? I don't wanna get it from a shop because they over charge. i'd rather get it straight through the manufacturer.
What else do I need to hook this up? What's the deal with the ground loop isolator or whatever its called?

Sorry that I can not answer all of your question, maybe if you reword it I can understand what you mean, but you might also want to pick up another cigarette lighter at radioshack and rewire it in the back of the dash so you dont use up your main one with the Belkin adapter. The ground loop isolator is needed when you have 2 signals going into one ground. Some people need it, some dont. I would use it just to be safe, its about $15 at Radio Shack. It basically prevents clicks and backround noise caused by ground loop errors.

You need an adapter from www.blitzsafe.com or www.pie.net. You'll need an RCA-Y --> stereo mini cord, and a Ground Loop Isolator to get rid of the annoying humming sound that comes from having a double-ground, one in the lighter, one in the stereo. Do a search here and on www.vwvortex.com for some examples of installations that folks have done.
It was actually very easy on my Jetta 1.8T - I sorta followed this example: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=509131.

Yeah I've seen that post on the vortex before. I was actually looking for it for a long time. Thanks.
So I got the blitzsafe, and the belkin. Now all I need is the RCA-Y to stereo mini and the female end cig lighter. I think I have a RCAY-mini that came with my new Altec lansing speakers, so I'll check that when I get home.
Gordy, how do yuo get your HU out? I cut up some metal strips the first time around and it worked, but ti was a pain to get the rigth size. And I don't know if I still have them. Did you do the same or did you actually buy the keys?
