The answer to all our questions
what about one of these? http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/focus.php3?partno=AVFMT
It looks like it sits "in line" or between your existing headunit's radio attena and the headset. If you switch your iPod on, it replaces the radio's signal. So you don't have to worry about reception.
This with a deluxe charger to connect audi jacks to feed the RCA inputs this thingy has, then bob's your aunty's live in lover...
admitedly you have to have the iPod mounted in the cockpit, which I'd like to avoid, because your head unit can't control the iPod, but which ones really can?

# 1 Re: The answer to all our questions
I asked a question about FM Modulators recently, wondering the relative sound quality versus a cassette adaptor. No one answered me.
# 2 Re: The answer to all our questions
The FM Modulator usually has a signal to noise ratio of like at least 88 db. It will sound as good as a perfectly clear radio station. But, if you were going to use that, why not just get an aux input adapter for a cd changer port, which will usually have an SNR of like 105

With my stereo, I'd have to disconnect the CD changer. Of course, I haven't really been using the CD changer, so I'm still considering it. Just weighing all the options... anyone know the s/n ratio for a cassette adaptor?
