I have a second generation iPOD. I also have a car stereo (Chrysler Intermezzo audio system) that has A/V inputs on the front panel. The unit has "smarts" that utilizes the AUX inputs when it detects a signal.

Initially, I connected my iPOD and nothing happened. I then cranked up the volume on the iPOD and it started to play through the car stereo. By cranked up, I mean that the volume was almost at max. Then, when that song ended, there was no "signal" coming from the iPOD so the car stereo reverted to the CD player. The next track on the iPOD started and about 5 seconds later, the car stereo realized there was an AUX signal and went back to that. Obviously, this is not a good situation.

Has anyone else experienced this and what was the solution? I really didn't want to go the iTrip approach for the obvious reasons.
