Really, REALLY noob question I want answered before getting Ipod...

Oh god, I feel like such an idiot...
Ipods can play MP3s, correct? Or just this AAC thing I keep hearing about? I really, really need to know.

The iPod can play MP3 (32 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, AAC, Audible, and WAV files.
