160aac = ??mp3

Just wondering what 160kbps is equal to in mp3, roughly? Ive heard both 192 and 256. What do you guys think?

I've heard that 128 AAC is equal to 160/192 mp3......some fellow ipodlounger from the iTunes for windows forum provided this info...u can try searching in the forums....

This link to an excellent page by a member has his subjective ratings, with 160 AAC roughly equivalent to 192 VBR MP3. Once you get past all the caveats on the boards about how it depends on the listener, type of music, etc., his observations seem to follow the trend I've observed in the threads I've read.
