AAC Tagging

I know this topic has been brought up before, but i havent seen any definate answers so ill ask.. When encoding to AAC in windows, it makes the file extensions .mp4, and as you know you cant transfer it to the ipod without the file extensions being .m4a (or at least i cant see to).. Has anyone found a quick way to fix the tags so one doesnt have to rename dozens of files..

Why not use a batch renamer like this ( http://www.minimice.barrysworld.net/Body/Programs/qfr_info.html) one?

iTunes for windows encodes to .m4a so you don't have to do anything.

You can use dbpoweramp and the renaming plugin to rename all of the files pretty quickly. I use that method only because I had used dbpoweramp to create VBR mp4 files and it was convenient for me. Otherwise I would just use a batch renaming program as suggested above.
