Got one!

Okay guys well I finally got an iPod (3g 30gb refurb). I read post here for weeks prior to ordering one. I wanted to know what others thought about their iPods and any problems encountered. Well my "baby" arrived today and within 30 mins I had it connected and loaded with songs. I did not have one problem what so ever. Things went smooth as silk. I am a windows XP user also. I did not load Music Match and instead went with Ephpod due to the rave reviews I have read here. Well I just wanted to say thanks to all here that made my experience enjoyable.

YES!!!!! Welcome to the lounge and you will not go wrong with you purchase of the refur. I bought a refur 3Gen 30g myself and I'm just loving my big baby. I had the 3G 10g on May 2 through Apple and want to get bigger so I order the 30g refur when it came avaliable & my sister got the 10g(She love it to death). You know Musicmatch suck bad & Ephpod is really a good program for the Ipod but if Itunes is coming I still keep using Ephpod. I had no problems with the Ipod or Ephpod so you should be ok. It good to see that one person was not ill on being able to configure with a PC. Now get back to enjoying your pod.

P.S. Have you named it yet?

Well BellnoPred I have named my baby "Roxanne"....I am a huge Sting fan. And you are correct you can not go wrong with a refurb. It arrived in pristine condition! Not one scratch! It looked brand new, who knows! If anyone is interested in refurb check out powermax. Great service and speedy too! Now I must get back to Sting on my iPod...and I mean every cd!!!

Anime/Jpop/Old school crackhead myself so I could not wait for my little Yugi(Sharon Apple's child) to come any soon. I got my from Apple and it took 5 days to get mine. I'm not sure why it took longing for others but I put in my order sunday nite(back in late sept.) & friday afternoon it was at the house wanting to be let out of the box and meeting her new mother.

I agree with going with PowerMax for the refurb Pods; Apple doesn't have refurb 3G's on their site anymore and other places charge more. I got a 30GB refurb for $350 that should arrive today.

I just got my iPod on the 15th.. a 3g 20 Gig.. Fun loving, spunky little thing she is.. Named Her Kin-Ying after a friend of mine in Hong Kong. Bought her new.. Downloaded and bought the license for xPlay, and shortly after that MMJBPro 8.1 decided it wanted to work. so now i use both... (only cuz i already have the registration and free upgrades for life for MMJBPro)

Me I have decide that I will continue to use Ephpod for syncing even though I now have Itunes for windows running on my machine. Will stil use winamp 2(I hate winamp 3) for playing(over 1200 skin and on random sweet, mostly anime skins) my tunes. I like itunes and it is a great program but I really love winamp and ephpod so I not dump cuz of that. Damien I would say dump musicmatch, it is pure **it and has crashed my system many times on syncing(to #### long on that) or ripping a cd and docking ipod to sync with ephpod then BAMB!!!!!! total lock up and have to reboot. I say it good for ripping cd but that all it is good for but I just downloaded dbpower amp and will try this weekend if it is good. If it works well "sayonara" musicmatch, program from hell. My 2 cents and welcome to the lounge you will like it here and friendly as hell too.

not to get off the subject but I need to ask you something damien, sometime ago there was a program I was trying to get that could translate japanese websities called Translingo from fujistu. At the time you could download it from the US site for $88 but now it is no longer avaiiable but you can get it from japan but I have had no luck in found it. I have a program now that works with my broswer but I would let to get this program to since it worked with your browser and much more. Do you know if it is still available ther and if it will work on us version of windows?

gratz neo :) i just got mine today as well!!! (ah the excitement!) Most stores in the area have a 2 week wait (the agony!) but today I discovered a local site that had just gotten some in stock - the guy there was kind enough to courier it over to me so I had it to play with on the weekend :)

She's been christened "podpod" (not terribly original, i know) and we've already had a few dramas, including me (being the plug n play device girl that i am) getting windows to format the poor thing which caused a bit of ... well a lot of weird flashing exclamation marks! Think I've got everything under control now..

Well I just got my iPod today. A 3G 20GB. Almost bought the 10GB, but by the time I got the cradle, case and remote for the 10GB, the extra $100 was used up. So I decided to with the 20GB and it's like doubling the size for free. So far I really am loving, using iTunes for Windows to sync with and no problems at all. I haven't put that much on it yet, just about 13 of my favorite albums, and hardly anyspace was used up. Pretty cool. After I am fully moved I think I may be able to put my whole music collection on it (about 300 CD's)

Mink, I was just judging teh case that comess with the iPod 20GB that is available from Apple seperately. They are the same case. And at a cost $39.95, that takes a big chunk out of the $100 price difference between the 10 and 20GB models. Whether it's the best case or not, I'm not sure Add in another $39.95 for the cradle, now you are up to $80 of that $100 and you haven't even gotten the remote yet, which was $20.00. There you have it, 3 accessories, $100. Buy the 20GB, you get that same $100 of accessories AND an additional 10GB for free. I think that's a value.

grins - i was agreeing with you, 20gb was much better value (i just think the case could have been done better!)

Yeah, going with a refurb Pod is a great idea. I got a refurb 30GB iPod just two weeks ago, no problems whatsoever.

lol looks like you'll be moving to a 20GB pretty soon if you keep going at this rate.

my 'problem' is i keep buying more music to 'justify' why i bought a 30GB in the first place, so by the time i do fill it they'll have a 100GB version, and so the cycle begins again : )

technology...!
