At some point everybody realizes the power of the pod!

My girlfriend before I got my Ipod:

"why, you don't need it"
" your cd player is good enough"
"it's too expensive,I can think of better ways to spend that money"

"you won't like it and like all the others it will go back"

After I get my Ipod:

"OMG, this is oooo sweet"
Awwwe,coooool...look at the little scroll wheel, and all you do is tap the buttons..."

"it is so freakin cool looking"

"so how many songs will it hold"

"no,I never said it was dumb, I thought it was only for MAC so I never paid it any attention"

"honey..I can use your ipod right?"

"all I want is an ipod"

In the car in the best Buy lot after she bought herself the 20Gb pod:

"I can't believe i have an ipod"

"oh thank you honey for 'making' me get this"

"it's so true, this is my little baby"

"oh wow..cool remote...and a case.....and I got 10 more gigs than YOU do"

--
She stayed up til 3am loading her older cd's into the puter. She now likes to rub it in how much free space she has comapred to me.
I love it when I am right.
I tolder her but she just didn't believe me.
Now she knows.;)

ha...funny, my parents are trying to get me to save money for college or a car, and did the disappointed sigh thing when I decided to spend 300+ bucks on an iPod, but as soon as I got it working it was the coolest thing in the world. Now suddenly we need a car adapter so we can play music on vacations, and we also need to load driving directions onto it in text format. There's really more to this thing than anyone could ever imagine...

Amen to that. I'm a Mac user, but I recently convinced two Windows friends at work to buy an iPod. One had been looking at one of the smaller 256 MB players, but he was convinced after playing with my 30GB. He realized that it was more pratical for him (he wanted to take all his music with him and not bother with uploading a new CD everytime he wanted something to listen to). The smaller players out that that hold just one or two CDs just wouldn't cut it.

My other friend was similarly convinced, and decided on the 30GB the same day the 40GB came out. Luckily he hadn't ordered it yet. I told him about the bigger size, he asked "How many songs will that hold?" "Ten thousand," I said. His response was priceless "Who in the world needs that many songs?" Apparently he does, cause he owns a 40GB now. (I'm so jealous.)

I admit I was a bit of a disbeliever as well.

A few months ago I got a promotion at work...my hubby tells me why don't you treat yourself and get an iPod. At the time money was a bit tight...so I felt guilty about it. Figured, I got a minidisc player and a PDA that I never use anymore so I shouldn't waste money on something that will turn out the same.

Then a month ago things started looking up...and I decided that I needed a new computer...I agonized over what to get...finally settled on getting a PowerBook. I'm a Mac newbie and a switcher too...while purchasing...the hubby suggests throwing in an iPod...I figure oh okie...why not...I opt for the 10GB thinking I can give it to the hubby when it gets here. Next day he asked hey does the 10GB come with the dock...and I found out it didn't...so I opted for the 20GB.

Well the iPod arrived first...it was the coolest box I have ever opened! I sat there drooling and just in love with my iPod. Unfortunately, I had to let it sit in the box...my old machines didn't have Firewire and I didn't want to buy the USB cord. Finally, my PowerBook arrives...spent a few days getting acquianted. Then I break out the iPod...connect it to my PowerBook...and it was "Behold the power!!"

Okay so I'm a real dork but I'm glad I got it and I see the power of my iPod...I use it on the subway...even at the office. I don't bother to use my computer to play music...I just use my iPod. :)

I pretty much keep my iPod to myself, but the wife really likes that we can take EVERY CD we own and it's all in one small package.

What really blows people away is streaming music from the iPod on once computer to other computers via Anapod. I hookup the pod to my computer, pull up a browser on another and stream anything/everything to Winamp. Music everywhere!!
