Problem with audible books :(
Hi, is it possible to synchronise audible books with Anapod? Im having the problem that a few previous posters have mentioned. Namely that books which were working before now dont, when I select them and press play nothing happens.
I have a 3G 40GB Ipod, running on Windows XP SP 1, with the latest version of Audible Manager and Anapod. Im no longer using ITunes etc.
Thanks for any help
Regards
Andrew
p.s. Sorry I posted this is the wrong thread earlier by mistake

APL,
I've never used Anapod. What does Anapod say? Do they claim to support Audible files?
Did you transfer the files to your iPod with Anapod, or with AudibleManager?
If you used Anapod, you might try transferring your music with Anapod, and use AudibleManager to transfer Audible files to the iPod.

I was transferring the files with audible and the music with anapod :P :)
After it stopped working Ive been trying with anapod but it transfer them as data files so cant be 'seen' in the playback lists
Still cant make it work :(

Btw I emailed Anapod to ask f they support audible, still waiting for a response, but they claim to support it in their streamer app - which if I understand it properly streams audio directly from the ipod, so it doesnt kind of make sense why it doesnt work...

I got an answer from Anapod today, unfortunately they dont support audible files in their current version, but are looking to add it to a future version.
I guess I need to wait for the answer from audible now, I just hope I dont need to format my ipod again...

Andrew,
Sorry to hear that. I think that anyone who makes iPod software should ensure it all formats supported on the iPod.
I don't think there's anything left for you to wait for in terms of getting an answer from Audible. If Anapod doesn't support Audible, there is nothing they can do about it.
As I said in the user's guide, to my knowledge, the only currently working iPod tools that work properly with Audible are iTunes, MC9, or the MMJB / AudibleManager combo.
Thanks for getting the Anapod scoop for us and sharing it for others.

Parannoya and Andrew--
Another program that works for transferring audible files to the iPod is ephPod.
Althouh ephPod works perfectly for transferring files to the iPod, there is one small bug with it. When you connect to your iPod with ephPod, it will erase all of your audible book markers. I get around this by remembering/writing down my position in a book prior to connecting to ephPod, and then as soon as I've disconnected from my computer, fastforwarding to the place I was in the book.

Thanks for the info dordale, but I managed to solve my problem. I redownloaded all my books again (even though I tried it once) following the advise of a technician from audible, transferred them again with audible manager, and they now work again :)
So Im back to being a happy person, the only thing is that Im not sure what caused them to stop working in the first place. The only thing I can think of is EUPod, as it was the last thing I ran on the ipod. I havent been able to find anywhere though whether eupod modifys audible files or not, so I dont know this for sure, so my apologies in advance if Im wrong. Im too tired to research much into it today though, in fact Im now off too bed!
Night :)
