Audible and iTunes Library

In this forum as well as in the audible tutorial it has been mentioned that one needs to import the audible file into itunes after downloading it.

Perhaps this is a windows thing, but on the Mac, at least for me, if you set things up to make iTunes the default app for audio content, the files are automatically imported into the itunes library after import.

Perhaps I misunderstood what the tutorial was trying to say?

John, you're right. On the Mac, its seamlessly integrated and Audible files are automatically imported into iTunes.

On the Windows version, you do have to manually import them for now. However in the Audible iPod FAQ's, it mentions that Apple and Audible are working on it so that Audible files will be automatically imported.

But for now, Windows requires manual file importing.

Ipod & Itunes
On three ocasions itunes has delected my library and i'm having to create smartlists etc again and again.

Does anybody know if it's possible to copy smartslist directly from the ipod and place them back into Itunes?

or even synchronize what i have on my ipod with whats on my hard drive?? so everything that's on the ipod comes restores back onto my hard drve?? including most of all playlists?

I'm not sure yet, as I haven't had the chance to use iTunes very much yet.

But one way to solve your problem for now. After you snyc, turn off the autosync for your iPod and just update your playlists manually.
