iTrips for those in the UK

I have 4 iTrips (not for the 3rd gen models - top firewire port only) which I'm going to be listing on eBay in a few weeks as Buy it Now for ?38.00.
If anyone is interested in buying one, please let me know (simon@wifty.org) as it'll save me listing them.
cheers

It's a small device that plaugs into the headphone jack of your iPod and transmits whatever's playing on the Pod to an FM frequency you specify on the iPod itself. You can then tune any FM radio within a short distance to the tunes playing on your iPod. Great for in the car.

But ILLEGAL in the UK and uses the low 80-90 band which suffers such poor reception characteristics here.

If you want to use an iPod in the car use a tape adaptor or hard wire it to the CD changer port.

Illegal yes, because you're *technically* creating a pirate radio station but only within a very small range. You'd never get caught for it. I choose to risk it, I'm not saying that you should, just my opinion.

I assumed everyone knew the situation with these iTrips regarding the law - apologies if this is not the case, I wasn't trying to con anyone.

You can select any frequency from 87.7 - 107.9 MHz you're not limited to 80-90 and I've had great results in my car - loads better than my tape adaptor. (Plus I'm getting a new car with no tape deck at the end of the month so my tape adaptor is useless anyway.)

For 30-40 quid I might give one a go for the fun value of jumping into a friends car and firing up my Ipod or improving the music at a party. As usual in the UK we get spanked pricewise though I have seen them on everything-Ipod.uk for 38 pounds I think. On Ebay at the moment you can see them changing hands for 80 quid which strikes me as madness.

It is not illegal to own one, just to use it but I wouldn't worry about the IPlods...
