Major iPod problems...infuriating!
So I have had an ipod for the past 2 weeks, and it worked fine. I uploaded 1000+ songs onto it, and then last night started uploading more (using Ephpod). The songs all went through, until at one point Ephpod crashed. I opened it again, and continued loading my songs. However, later that night I checked through my ipod songs and none of the new stuff I had entered was there! I tried uploading the same songs again today, and the problem persisted. When I connect it to the PC, Ephpod says that all the songs that I uploaded post-crash (that I cannot view/listen to on the ipod) were on the ipod's hard drive...but none of my pre-crash songs are present! So basically, it is like it has 2 hard drives: one that shows me old tracks but none of the new, and one (on the computer) that shows my new songs but not my old! Do I have to send it in to Apple, or am I just doing something wrong? I am going to New York tomorrow, and I was hoping to have this fixed. Any help is great.
Thanks.

No, what happened was that yor iPod database didn't get updated by ephpod since it crashed (that's what the "Save Changes" bit is about).
So, there are songs on the iPod, but the iPod database doesn't know they are there.
Fear not, there is a tool in ephpod to help you out. Click on Tools>Search for Orphaned songs (or something like that. It'll search your iPod for songs that don't have entries in the iPod database. You'll have to enter tag info, but it'll find them.
The other option is to choose Rebuild iPod Database. It basically recreates the entire iPod database from the contents on the ipod.
Can't help you w/why it crashed in the first place. Could have been ephpod or the firewire/usb. Might want to check out the stable 2.58 build instead of the newer ones.
Or go w/MC9 or Xplay.
