PC file allocation protocol - talking to Mac

I have been trying to get my mac to transfer large files to my windows Ipod. Apparently, MAC is having a hard time tranferring large file to the IPO b/c of its file system . Does anyone know how to get files from a Mac to a Win Ipod?
