wooooo just got mine. some newb qs.

Hi. Ipod newbie. 15gb 3g.

I purchased it off my friend, who previously had it formatted for mac. But I like some of his songs.

Is there a way to keep his songs, and at the same time add my songs, which are from my PC? Can it support both mac and pc simultaneously?

And, has anyone had problems with generic firewires?

Merci

Kelly

I am not an expert, but I am pretty sure you need MacOpener to access an Mac iPod from MS Windows.

Kelly, what you'll need to do is install MacOpener (or install the trial of Xplay (http://www.mediafour.com) which is probably even easier than Macopener. You can use their free 30 day trial for this.

All you want to do is get the songs off of the iPod, in Xplay you just drag and drop them to your PC. Once you have them off, you can format the iPod as a WiPod using the 2.0.1 Updater (http://www.apple.com/ipod/download). Then use the software app of your choice to upload to the iPod normally.

Some generic firewire's work fine. Just try it and see.
