a little confused re Firewire or USB2
I was reading some of the other messages that indicated people were using a y cord to both dock and charge simultaneously.

I bought a firewire card for my PC. Does the Ipod charge in it while connected to my PC or do I have to switch the cable over to the charger?

Yes, Firewire will charge your iPod while connected. USB2 will not charge by itself. You;ll need the special dual Firewire/USB cable to get power to your iPod while doc'dmarkp99 at 2007-11-15 17:07:19 >

no harm in letting the iPod sit in the dock for charging over extended periods. Just make sure it's unmounted from the PC.Adam
