A Few Issues

Hi guys, nice to see the site back :)

First of all, I have noticed when I turn my iPod over, I hear a small ticking noise. Normally, this does happen with desktop hard disks, but I was wondering if this is normal with iPod?

Also, my battery life doesn't seem to get > 4hrs. I went on a trip which took 6hrs coming and going and my iPod didn't last :( Should I contact Apple support, or is this the right amount of time? I did follow their guidelines and only changed tracks twice. I made sure I had a playlist I would listen to.

Finally, when I have iPod connected to my PC via my external hard disk, the iPod drops out in mid transfer, why?

Thanks for your help

TIA

Phew, thank goodness :D :) Thanks so much for your reply, it's only a faint sound, nothing that would indicate a broken head. Also I haven't dropped the ipod, so I was wondering if it had been mistreated on transit.

How are Apple about batteries and warranties?

I'm not sure about warranties, not being sufficiently far into the product life cycle of my iPod to warrant one ;)

But I'd just like to ask what in particular you mean by 'have iPod connected to my PC via my external hard disk'?

Well, once I have downloaded the songs off my laptop hard disk, I put them on an external hard disk. As I lost a few tracks I had to put them back on, so I connected it to the thru port.
