Worried about reformatting
Using what I gathered on this forum, I am ready to reformat my iPod from Mac to Win. Installed FireWire card, downloaded xPlay, transfered music to Music Match, (took so time but it worked), have 1.3 updater installed on computer.
Got cold feet about doing this reformatting thing.
This is a 2nd Gen. 10 GB formatted for Mac. Is this 1.3 update going to work properly?
Has anyone succesfully done this?
Anyone have trouble doing this?
Would hate to loose all songs and /or mess up a nice device like this little iPod even though we only spent $15.95 at our local Goodwill store.
One other thing, haven't seen this answered anywhere yet,(new to this stuff and forum) but will transfering music from Music Match back to iPod once it is reformatted to Win. be simple or even possible? ( Should have asked this first)

Adam, I read your PM after posting this. Thank you very much for the info. Still concerned about reloading iPod from MM. Will it work?
Was not able to drag music from iPod to xPlay as you mentioned. Will try again. Thanks Mducote

What were the problems you had using Xplay to get the tunes off of the iPod?
As far as reformatting goes, it's been done by many many 'podders w/o problems, but you will lose your tunes which is why you want to get the music off of the iPod and copied to your PC first.
